Still, it was Miriam Santiago who largely took the blow of alleged dagdag-bawas and not the INC-backed Danding. Besides, it was common knowledge then that everyone was cheating everyone else, so in the end, the collective cheating somewhat canceled each other out.
Your point, however, illustrates the even more immediate importance of clean elections or else good guys will always finish last....
